YOGA – OUR UNDERSTANDING AND TEACHING
We are teaching a dynamic Yoga: Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and Vinyasa Flow Yoga.
Both are characterised by a flowing transition from one to another position (asana).
We consider combining breath and movement as one particular aspect to focus on during practice.
Sessions of aware yogic breathing technics (pranayama) and meditation (dhyana) are part of the lessons. There is also space for philosophical explanations and debates.
Ashtanga Yoga Mysore Style: English instruction
Our Ashtanga classes are open to all levels: from beginners (no experience needed) to advanced practitioners. English teaching is possible here as we teach in a one-to-one method in the group setting called Mysore Style (named after the South Indian city that Ashtanga Yoga originates from). We support you to develop your own practice following the Ashtanga Yoga series. This way, pace and variations of positions are individually adapted. We show you how to and explain as well as we use our hands in order to support in positions.
Our approach of (Ashtanga Vinyasa) Yoga is to open up the space for exploring and experimenting. We understand Yoga as a path to get to know yourself, to be in touch with yourself and to discover the Inner Self.
Special events such as workshops, special pranayama classes, beginner courses and retreats are part of our teaching besides our weekly schedule of open classes.
We both, Dörte and Ute, are passionate for yoga and eager practitioners for many years. In 2016 we have opened our Shala based in Friedrichshain to offer a pure and open room to practice, learn and teach yoga.
